Against all odds, Dead Island 2 is now available after passing through development hell, and it's turned out pretty good. It seems the UK is onboard for the gory zombie-slaying action, as it has debuted at number one in the physical chart. Of those boxed copies, it sold 68 per cent of them on PS5. It's a great start for a game that took the best part of a decade to make.
Elsewhere, a couple of other new releases have forced the usual suspects down. Minecraft Legends also has a strong debut at number two, while Nintendo's Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp lands in third. Their arrival means everything is lower — FIFA 23, Hogwarts Legacy, Resident Evil 4, and God of War Ragnarok move to fifth, seventh, eighth, and 10th respectively.

Apparently the Switch version accounted for 76% of Minecraft Legends' physical sales, lol.
Nice to see Advance Wars near the top as well, even if it'll likely disappear by next week.

It's only physical sales and Switch owners are still in "physical copies" land. And Switch has biggest market share in UK. So this is hardly surprising.
And rightly so its a great game, melting zombies faces with my acid axe and breaking runners ankles with my electric mace never gets old.

I’m enjoying it so far. I only wish the standard zombies were easier to kill. It shouldn’t take 4 hits to the head (with a sword) to take one down.
Wow. What a surprising success story for Dead Island 2. Good on them. I definitely didn't see it's success coming at all really.
It's a lot of fun. I've been enjoying my time with it.

Don’t sleep on Dead Island 2. Really good game. Right now I’m at an 8. The FLESH system is legit and makes other zombie games gore seem mediocre.

@SirMarshmallow sorry i don't do day one for ANY game no matter how good it scores, there is no benefit buying day 1 anymore apart from wasting your time
Never played Dead Island. But glad they pulled it off.
Also glad I have a StamDeck. Going from playing Burning Shores at home to stuck with playing either MineCraft or Advance Wars on the road would just make traveling for work even more annoying.
